  • Dr. Sherif Hazem has been selected to work as Assistant Sub-Governor of the Banking Computing Security Incident Response Center, EG-FinCIRT. With establishing EGFinCIRT, Dr. Hazem pursues to enhance the implementation of the cybersecurity strategy included in Egypt national digital economy vision. His mission is to assist banks to foster Financial robust environment through reducing and preventing major cyber accidents, and ensure that cybersecurity proactive measures are in place along with incidents and forensic evidence handling.
  • 12+ years of experience as a manager to the Egyptian Root Certificate Authority (RootCA), which is a large-scale national mission-critical government project. He is also a member of the Egyptian Cyber Security Supreme Council and participated in establishing and operating the Egyptian Computer Emergency Response Team (EG-CERT) at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority.
  • Dr. Sherif Hazem was also selected to participate in the electronic payment system committees to contribute to the development of technical regulations and standards related to the security of various electronic payment systems and services. This will enhance the confidence of users, protecting their rights and controlling the Egyptian payment market in order to create a competitive environment. In addition to this, He is a committee member of the Egyptian Smart National ID Cards and a committee member of the National Cyber Crimes and Information Security Committee to draft Egypt’s cyber
    security, data protection, and privacy law.
  • Dr. Sherif Hazem has been selected for this position because of his distinguished professional and 20+ years of academic experience teaching Information Security, Network Security, Cryptography, PKI, Applied Telecommunications, Communication Systems, Communication Networks to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, at leading national and international institutes (e.g. Arab academy for science and technology and StaffordshireUniversity, U.K).
  • Dr.Hazem had a key national contribution in drafting a highly specialized training with candidate’s eligibility criteria listed within an initiative entitled “Mastering Cyber Security in Egypt Financial sector”, consistently with cybersecurity strategies and policies in place to foster robust financial infrastructure, aiming at graduating the number of 100 professional experts over two years received hands-on training with capabilities of applying state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies.
  • Dr. Sherif Hazem received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2004 from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Sherif was nominated for the title of Best Researcher in the Western United Kingdom for 2002 and 2003 respectively for his own research in Information security, multimedia protection technology and different encryption methods.
  • Bahaa Eldin M. Hasan received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, from Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (Shoubra), Zagazig University in 1978 and 1987, respectively.
  • He received the Ph.D. degree from Ain Shams University under the supervision of Tokyo institute of technology in 1994.
  • He was awarded the Order of Merit Second grade from the president of Egypt.
  • He invented a New Symmetric Key Cryptosystem Which is registered in the Japanese Patent Office in Tokyo #140444/2 dated 30/5/1990 (This invention is a new cryptographic system based on Smart Card). - He has been giving courses on data security, physical security and access control and ethical hacking throughout the Arab world.
  • He is an expert specializing in such areas as data security, network security, computer security, ethical hacking and countermeasures, smart cards, smart token and secure micro SD applications for securing the data and information.
