  • I have been selected to work as CBE Sub-Governor responsible for the cybersecurity sector to execute a strategic plan and vision to enhance the Egyptian financial sector cyber capabilities and protect form ongoing and future threats.
  • This sector will serve the financial sector in Egypt as a strategic focal point of reference for cyber security, fostering coordination and consistency with stakeholders, i.e. unifying standards and controls. In addition to, instilling the proactive behavior and the continuous vigilance in the Fin-Sector against cyber threats through disseminating alerts, warnings and informative reports. Furthermore, CBE Cyber security sector will be responsible for ensuring Cyber Security infrastructure readiness through conducting on-site and remote technical assessments.
  • Moreover, Cyber security sector at CBE will be responsible for the tasks of enhancing the technical expertise at the financial sector through technical training courses & knowledge transfer programs. This plan will be executed using the following newly created divisions which I will be responsible for supervising:
    • Egypt Financial Computing Incident response team (EG-FinCIRT)
    • Banking Cyber Security Readiness Central Division
    • Cyber Security Managed Services Central Division.
  • 12+ years of experience as a manager to the Egyptian Root Certificate Authority (CA) - which is a large-scale national mission-critical government project. A member in the Egyptian Cyber Security Supreme Council, the Egyptian Smart National ID Cards committee, and the Egyptian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) committee.
  • A committee member of the Egyptian Smart National ID Cards and a committee member of the National Cyber Crimes and Information Security committee to draft Egypt’s cyber security, data protection, and privacy law.
  • Over 20+ years academic experience teaching Information Security, Network Security, Cryptography, PKI, Applied Telecommunications, Communication Systems, Communication Networks to both undergraduate and post graduate students, at leading national and international institutes (e.g. Arab academy for science and technology and Staffordshire University, U.K).
  • Received his PhD in Computer Engineering in 2004 from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. Also was nominated for the title of Best Researcher in the Western United Kingdom for 2002 and 2003 respectively for his own research in Information security, multimedia protection technology and different encryption methods.

  • Ahmed is the Co-Founder of Arab Security Conference, an annual cybersecurity conference held in Cairo, Egypt. It strives to raise cybersecurity awareness in the Arab world and also he is the Co-founder Arab Security Cyber Wargames, an interactive cybersecurity challenge that immerses participants in a simulated cyber-attack scenario, such as gaining or preventing access to a computer system or exploiting and defending a vulnerability in a system or an application.
  • Ahmed was former VP of Information Security Group & Software Division at Chamber of Information Technology (CIT).
  • Heba is the chairwomen of Information Technology Institute (ITI), one of the main talent development affiliates of the Egyptian ministry of communication and technology (MCIT). She managed to lead and empower ITI role as a powerhouse of technology professionals in the Egyptian market and the Arab region, leading a team of 400 professionals, achieving 98% graduation rate with 81% job placement prior graduation and 94% job placement four weeks, post-graduation.
  • Dr. Heba led numerous talent development national initiatives with the aim of empowering different technology industries with the needed talents, and leveraging the employment opportunities for the these initiatives’ graduates in specializations included for example; Game development, Media production, eLearning & Instruction design, Internet of things, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data science, and others in collaboration with a wide network of key relevant local and international industry players.
  • With the scalability at the center of today’s economy, Heba believes in the power of technology as a medium for realizing learning democratization with the best balance between scalability and ROIs as an economic impact. She designed and launched two national initiatives, with the purpose of reaching out the untapped talents, offering them the best-in-class learning opportunities "maharatech.gov.eg", and sustaining the same KPI of employment through "freelancingzones.com" initiative. Both initiatives worked to tie between skills development and creating job opportunities at a scale, targeting the non-conventional employment opportunities of freelancing, availed for youth, and untapped talents, harnessing the power of technology and its globalized opportunities.
  • Early in her career in the beginning of 90's, she helped several customers in their digital transformation journeys as a software engineer and a data warehouse specialist. She was inspired by the the arising opportunities that technology brings not only on the business productivity level, but also on the people level if well engaged, and prepared, hence; became a speaker and a writer for various articles in the area like technology market opportunities and skills empowerment, preparing talents for a world full of uncertainties, employment opportunities between theory and practice.
  • "Never rest on past laurels", A fact drives Heba's beliefs in non-stop and curious learning. She loves playing piano, watching fiction and documentary movies, travelling and exploring new destinations’ culture, people and food with her family and friends.

Bahaa Eldin M. Hasan received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Zagazig University in 1978, and 1987, respectively. He received a Ph.D. degree from Ain Shams University under the supervision of the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1994. He also got the Order of Merit- Second-grade award from the President of Egypt. In 2006, Dr. Bahaa started his own private business called Arab Security Consultants (ASC), in addition to founding ISEC in 2016. From 2017, Dr. Bahaa founded and implemented the Annual Arab Security Conference aimed at spreading cybersecurity awareness in the Arab World and Worldwide. Dr. Bahaa is an expert specializing in such areas as Data security, network security, computer security, Ethical hacking and countermeasures, and Smart cards, smart token, and Secure Micro SD applications for securing the data and information. Today, Bahaa is still involved in the training of security staff for several Arab world organizations. Dr. Bahaa Hassan won the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) Egypt Innovative ICT Award 2014. He is the exclusive distributor for EC- Council in Egypt and is now implementing a diploma specializing in information security (Information Security Diploma) and Master of cybersecurity at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport in collaboration with EC- Council.
